About the “Gate Pa” Suburb of Tauranga
Gate Pa historically significant for “The Battle Of Gate Pa” in 1864 is situated between the Avenues and Greerton. Being developed in the 1940’s, there are many state houses making this suburb appealing to first home buyers, young families, rental investors and small business owners.
2002 saw the opening of Fraser Cove Shopping Centre (Tauranga South), and a few years later in 2006 the Gate Pa Shopping Centre. Both these centre’s are open air shopping destinations providing ample parking and offer shopping from supermarkets to specialist shops. Gate Pa Shopping Centre has a direct route along Cameron Road, passed the Tauranga Hospital into the city centre.
